The form of play is a form of Strokeplay for which a Stableford score can be calculated and should target playing a round of 18 holes at each competition day. If teams are made the form of play should be such that additional to the team result also an individual performance in the form of a Stableford result can be calculated.
Competitors in the Stableford competition may select whether to play from the red or yellow tees.
In competing for the Gross Prize women shall play from red and men from yellow tees.
Competitors that for age or medical reasons have difficulty to walk the complete course may use a buggy’s depending on availibility and judgement of the ECC.
The handicap to be used for the whole competition is for each competitor the WHS handicap at the start of the first round of the competition. The ECC may request competitors to show evidence that confirms their handicap. The ECC may for organizational reasons decide to neglect handicap changes in the week before start of the tournament.
The ECC should apply playing handicaps according to the rules and the recommended allowance for the format chosen.
Teams competing for the country cup shall consist of 3 members of which at least 2 senators. Also international teams with at least 2 senators can compete. The ECC may admit other compositions if convenient for organizational reasons and scores can be made comparable.
When playing in flights in a scramble the ECC should try to minimize differences in playing handicaps between flights.
For the second round flights may be assigned based on the ranking after the first day.
The Committee reserves the right to reduce or cancel any round, suspend or postpone play, or come to an equitable decision to achieve a result in case rounds can not be completed, teams are incomplete.
To determine the ranking for individual or team scores, where possible net scores shall be used and in case of ties the following sequence will be applied:
a: The best result achieved in the last round played
under qualifying conditions
b: the best result following the matching scorecard
principle for the last 10-18, 13-18,16-18,18th hole(s)
