
The Terms of the Competition are established, maintained and interpreted by the ESGC Board
(“the Board”).
The Board may appoint one or more Senators to assist in the administration of the
competition. If the Captain is not a member of the Board, the Captain shall serve on the
Competition Committee.
The Board or its appointed representative (the Captain) shall act on its behalf in all
competition matters.
The competition shall be conducted in accordance with the R&A Rules of Golf, including
Rule 5A (Setting Terms of the Competition).
In all matters not expressly covered by these Terms, the Board shall decide in accordance with
the Rules of Golf and applicable Committee Procedures.
A participant who has not declared a Handicap Index may participate but shall not be eligible
for prizes.
Entry shall be submitted via the official ESGC website or as otherwise communicated by the
Board.
If a maximum field size is established, entries shall be accepted in order of receipt.
The competition shall be played over two (2) consecutive days.
The format shall be announced prior to the opening of registration. The Board reserves the
right to modify the format due to field size, course conditions or weather.
The competition shall be played in a form of Stroke Play from which a Stableford score is
calculated. The intention is to play 18 holes each day.
Where team competition is included, the format shall permit both team results and individual
Stableford results.
In the Stableford competition, players may choose to play from:

If the course has not designated red and yellow tees, the Board or a Senator appointed by the
Board (Captain) shall determine which tees shall apply for women and men respectively.
Participants aged 75 or older may choose to play from either the yellow or the red tees.
Such determination shall be communicated in due time prior to the competition (no later than
two (2) weeks before the event) and reiterated at the time of the competition.
Use of golf carts (buggies) is permitted for players with age-related or medical limitations,
subject to availability and approval by the Board or the Captain.
If the number of available golf carts (buggies) is limited, the Captain shall determine the order
of allocation. Participants must declare their interest in using a golf cart at the time of
registration.
The Handicap Index used shall be the player’s WHS Handicap Index at the start of the first
round.
The Handicap Index must be declared at registration. Adjustments may be made no later than
two (2) weeks prior to the competition and must be submitted to the Board or the Captain.
Playing handicaps shall be calculated in accordance with the Rules of Golf and recommended
handicap allowances for the selected format.
The Board may verify any declared Handicap Index.
Country Cup teams shall consist of three (3) players, all Senators from the same country.
In Rumble formats, the Board or the Captain shall endeavor to balance flights by minimizing
disparities in playing handicaps.
The Board or the Captain reserves the right to:
if play cannot be completed or teams are incomplete.
Unless otherwise specified, net scores shall determine rankings.
In the event of a tie, the following method shall apply:
1. Best score in the last round played under qualifying conditions;
2. Matching scorecard comparison over the last 9 holes (10–18), then last 6 holes
(13–18), then last 3 holes (16–18), then the 18th hole;

All eligible participants may compete for additional prizes as determined by the Board or the
Captain, including:
If a prize has been awarded incorrectly, the Board or the Captain shall take corrective action
in accordance with Rule 20 of the Rules of Golf.
All participants are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with the spirit of the game
and the R&A Rules of Golf.
The Board or the Captain may take appropriate action in the event of serious misconduct,
including but not limited to:
Serious misconduct may include abusive behavior, deliberate rule violations, damage to
property, or conduct that brings the competition into disrepute.
Participation in the ESGC Championship is at the player’s own risk.
The ESGC, the Organizing Committee, the Board, appointed officials, and the host venue shall not be held liable for:

applicable law.
