34th European Senators Golf Championship 2025
August 28. – August 31, Mont Garni
A magical weekend
Dear European Senators, Jaycees, and Waterlooish friends,
Thank you to all the loyal Senators, oldcomers, newcomers, partners and friends who came to Waterloo and Mont Garni.
It was one of the nicest feelings after our wonderful 33rd European Senators Championship driving home.
Some flew, some went to Antwerp and visited Vinh, some stopped somewhere scenic, some drove long distances back to Switzerland, but all felt the bonding values of Sportsmanship, friendship and assisting in a successful Mont Garni weekend.
Thank you for honoring Rudolf on this occasion. We had so many activities on one weekend; the Waterloo optional Pre-Program;
The Rudolf trophy organised by Martinette, Christof and Rob; Rudolf disguised as Napoleon, smiling at us on the dining room table, the Waterloo candies, the Abba Song dedicated to him, the music and all the work that goes behind honoring someone and producing a fun weekend to encourage you to come back next year.
Thank you Christof for the Kölnische Beer and the Music, Serge for the very fine French Champagne, Martinette and Rob for the whole weekend, Tobias for the beautifully printed ESGC Program, Nicole for keeping our finances clear in such a charming manner. and Ann who ran the whole Championship and lead the Team in a true Jaycee leadership manner.
Concerning the Golf, many of you enjoyed the extra 9 Holes in Waterloo, and the Mont Garni 2 day competition which was blessed with good weather and an element of rumble Fun. The Food Truck offered us many delicacies on the 9th Hole..
A fun place to meet fellow Senators.
The Golf competition was challenging and attached you can see the individual scores.
It is a Championship that beginners are welcome as well as our more experienced golfers.
We will also have next year a 9 as well as an 18 Hole Competition
Jamila was our big winner..in all 3 categories, The Swiss ladies Cup, the overall Gross and the Netto.
Congratulations..
Finally Saturday evening, we had our Gala evening in the Grand Hornu, built in 1815, and fit into our Waterloo theme.
It was an old industrial coal and steam train factory that has been restored, and is recognized as a Unesco Heritage.
The gourmet dinner was served in this historical setting, and many participants wore beautiful Waterlooish costumes.
Last but not least we had 8 non-golfers with a very intensive cultural program.
Thank you Filipe for guiding our groups
THE whole organizing Committee thanks all 50 participants, for the wonderful spirit, homage to Rudolf and laughter...
We proudly acknowledged Ireland and Turkey who joined us this year in Mont Garni.
More details will be sent in the New Year and our Web site will be updated by the end of the year.
Please write next year’s date in your calendar.
August 28 -31 2025
See you next year…and please spread the word…
